Small team. Real ownership over the work.
Dissonant Capital is a vertically integrated real estate investment platform based in Orlando, Florida, screening markets, underwriting deals, and building the infrastructure behind Resolve Fund I and Cadence Fund I. We're hiring across four roles as the platform grows past its first acquisitions.
Four roles, one small team.
Every role here touches the real work, not a narrow slice of it. Hiring is handled on our behalf by An Elite Placement; see “How to Apply” below for how to reach us.
Chief of Staff
The first hire on the operating side of the platform. You'll run point on everything that isn't underwriting a specific deal: fund formation logistics, investor credentialing, vendor and legal coordination, and keeping every workstream, Resolve Fund I, Cadence Fund I, and this site's own field notes, moving without anything falling through the cracks. This is a generalist role at a firm with no operating history to lean on; you'll be building a lot of the process as you go.
- Own the day-to-day operating rhythm of the firm: calendars, vendor relationships, legal and accounting coordination, and the investor credentialing pipeline from first inquiry through qualification.
- Draft and manage investor-facing communications, from individual correspondence to the field notes published on this site.
- Coordinate across acquisition, design, construction, and property management as deals move through the platform, flagging what's falling behind before it becomes a problem.
- Build the internal systems and documentation that don't exist yet: onboarding, reporting cadences, and the operating playbook for a firm still in formation.
- 3+ years in an operations, chief of staff, or executive support role, ideally at a small investment firm, real estate company, or fast-moving startup.
- Excellent written communication; you'll represent the firm directly to investors and partners.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. There is no legacy process to inherit here, you'll help write it.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Orlando, Florida.
Underwriter
The first underwriting hire on the platform, working directly with the Principal to build the discipline behind our How We Underwrite page. This isn't plugging numbers into a model, it's helping determine whether the numbers tell a story worth investing in, on every deal Resolve Fund I considers, from raw land to a stabilized asset ready to operate on day one.
- Own the underwriting and diligence process for every deal we consider, from initial market screening through the investment decision.
- Build and maintain financial models across the full capital stack: raw land, ground-up development, and stabilized acquisitions.
- Research population growth, job growth, and migration data to screen markets against our four criteria, the same framework behind the map on this site.
- Run comparable-property and site-level diligence: pricing, rents, absorption, unit mix, and occupancy within roughly two miles of every site under consideration.
- Work closely with the Principal, engineers, architects, and legal counsel to identify risks, validate assumptions, and keep diligence moving.
- Prepare clear, defensible underwriting packages, from Daniel personally today, and eventually from outside investors.
- 3+ years in real estate underwriting, acquisitions, investment analysis, development, or a related investment environment.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; the ability to build a model from a blank sheet, not just edit one.
- Strong grounding in real estate fundamentals: valuation, cash flow, financing, returns, development costs, and investment risk.
- A naturally skeptical, analytical mindset. We built this firm on the idea that headlines lag reality; we need someone who checks the underlying numbers instead of trusting the narrative.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building process from scratch.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Orlando, Florida.
Technologist
Own the technology that helps the firm find and evaluate opportunities. This site, the interactive market map, the “Dr. Know” assistant, and the data behind our screening criteria are built and maintained in-house, and you'd be the one who owns it, working directly with the underwriting team to turn market data and investment criteria into tools that give the firm an edge.
- Own and continuously improve dissonantcapital.com: the market map, the “Dr. Know” assistant, and the data underneath them. It's a small, dependency-free codebase (plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), and you'd be the one who knows it best.
- Build and automate the data pipelines that turn population, job growth, and migration figures into repeatable, usable information, replacing manual pulls with something that runs itself.
- Work directly with the underwriting team to turn the market-screening framework described on this site into internal tooling, not just a public-facing map.
- Own the firm's basic technical infrastructure: hosting, forms, security headers, and everything else currently running on Netlify.
- Help identify where automation can cut manual work out of the investment process, not just maintain what already exists.
- Comfortable across the stack: strong front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) plus data or scripting work (Python or similar).
- A problem-solving mindset and genuine curiosity about data, with real interest in how technology sharpens investment decisions.
- Comfortable being the technical owner at a small, entrepreneurial firm rather than waiting on direction from a larger IT team.
- Able to work independently, make sound technical calls, and figure things out where there isn't already a playbook.
- Strong communication skills; you'll work directly with the Principal and the underwriting team to turn ideas into working tools.
- Based in or willing to work on-site with our Orlando, Florida team; hybrid may be considered for the right candidate.
Investment & Operations Intern
A hands-on seat across underwriting, market research, and operations at a small firm where you'll see the whole platform, not just one narrow lane. Real work, not coffee runs: from researching markets and analyzing data to supporting live deals and day-to-day operations.
- Assist with city and market research: population growth, job creation, migration, and the other factors we use to identify emerging investment markets.
- Pull, organize, and analyze real estate market data, pricing, absorption, and comparable properties, to support live underwriting and investment decisions.
- Support day-to-day operations: investor credentialing, scheduling, research requests, and other projects across the platform.
- Work with the team to expand the market data behind the interactive map and screening process on this site.
- Sit in on real diligence and investment conversations, not just observe them.
- Currently pursuing a degree in real estate, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Strong Excel skills and genuine comfort working with data, research, and numbers.
- A curious, analytical mindset, with a willingness to ask questions and learn how the pieces fit together.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Comfortable in a small, entrepreneurial environment where priorities shift and everyone contributes.
- Based in or able to work from Orlando, Florida for the duration of the internship.
