Dissonant Labs is where we prototype, sandboxed and kept separate from the investment platform, the technology we think a vertically integrated developer will need next: proprietary AI, robotics-assisted construction, 3D printing, modular building systems, and the software layer underneath all of it. Nothing here is a product yet. It's R&D, run the same way we underwrite a market: quietly, on our own capital, before we ask anyone to believe in it.
Away from the fund, on our own timeline.
None of this touches Resolve Fund I, Cadence Fund I, or any capital we manage. It's kept deliberately sandboxed so an early prototype never becomes someone else's assumption about what we can deliver today.
Dr. Know, Proprietary AI
Our own sandboxed AI research effort, built and tested apart from the public FAQ assistant of the same name elsewhere on this site. Inside the lab, Dr. Know is judgment support for underwriting and operations, not a shipped product, and not connected to anything investor-facing.
Robotics
Robotic assembly for modular and manufactured construction: prototyping the automated fabrication step between a factory floor and a job site, not just the finished building.
3D Printing
Additive construction methods evaluated for the same reason we evaluate any new tool: whether it can shorten schedule or lower cost on the build process we already run, not because it's novel.
Modular Construction
Panelized and modular systems built for the growth markets in our screening framework, where a shorter site schedule is often a bigger edge than a marginally cheaper unit.
Proptech
The software layer underneath acquisition, underwriting, and operations, some of it already running inside Dissonant Capital, some of it still a lab experiment.
